To date, there are 1.75 million species of organisms identified on our planet. While extinction is natural, human activities such as pollution, habitat destruction, and overharvesting of resources have contributed to the increase in extinction rates that impact biodiversity. Numerous scientists have documented and called attention to this global loss of biodiversity. The United Nations has proclaimed 22 May every year as the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB), raising awareness in biodiversity issues. Parallel to this effort, Gamuda Parks leads the sustainable initiatives across all Gamuda Land developments anchoring to our three core pillars; Research & Development, Sustainable Business, and Social Management Plan.

This year, Gamuda Parks is celebrating IDB with the theme Wonder of Wetlands (WOW) - bringing awareness to wetlands that have been disappearing since the 1700s. Calling for all creative shutterbugs around Malaysia, let’s be in this together to document and show the world the beauty of our Wetlands.

Showcase the beauty of nature via your creativity – explore, shoot, and send us your best photo.

SHOOT YOUR BEST PHOTO OF NATURE AT ANY OF OUR TOWNSHIPS

Through our development principle ‘Listening to what the land has to tell us’, we work hand-in-hand with nature to create a balanced ecosystem that promotes biodiversity in our townships through preservation, conservation and rehabilitation.

Mandated to deliver, implement, manage, maintain and safeguard the long-term well-being of the environment, Gamuda Parks is governed by three main thrusts: green (flora maintenance), blue (waterscapes such as lake and pond designs), and brown (material management). We also promote sustainability by applying innovative mechanisms for the well-being of flora, fauna and our community as well.

Join us in this initiative by capturing and sharing what ‘the beauty of nature’ means to you through your lens whilst discovering and showing your appreciation towards nature.
